Summer 2006

As I write this, I’m once again amazed at how fast another year is going. Isn’t it funny how, as adults, we experience time passing too quickly, yet as children, we were so anxious to get older and thought time moved too slowly? Summer seems to be the perfect time of year to try reversing roles.

Speaking of summer, where is the market headed? Well, both long and short term rates are moving up and many people are locking into longer term mortgages now compared to 6 months ago. Sales are up by 5% over last year, but we are beginning to see signs of a softening market. It is still too soon to tell what the balance of this year will look like, but by the end of this summer, we should have a better gauge.

For me personally, this has been the most successful year of my career so far. Thank you so much to all of you who have made this a reality. It has meant much more than you know. Your help has made it possible for me to create a significant difference in the lives of others. I believe that we all start out in survival mode purely to fulfill our own needs and then, hopefully, with the help of those around us and other mechanisms, we move to achieve success on one level or another. From there, the only thing that makes sense to me is to leverage that success by helping others to achieve it too.

This year, I have had the privilege of helping a good friend begin his road to success and realize his dream of opening his own restaurant. We have named it Casalinga Bistro (Casalinga means home cooking in Italian). It is located near York University on Steeles Avenue, just East of Keele and opens on May 29th. We will be having our grand opening in mid July and would love for you to come. If you would like an invitation, please contact me. Of course, my intention once the restaurant opens, is to be a silent partner and focus all of my efforts on helping you and your referrals with their real estate needs. Thank you again so much for your support! Have an incredible summer.
